Curbs

Curbs are paving units with a length of over 300 mm, which, unless otherwise indicated, are supplied with free length. They are stone elements in strip or belt form, which trim the edge of a pavement, a platform, etc.  

The usual shape of curbs is prismatic, with a square or rectangular section and flat surface. They form be straight or curved, as established by the project. 


There are several types of curbs according to their geometric characteristics; they may be straight, tapered or curved.

The most widely used surface finishes are sawn curbs, curbs with singed visible surfaces, rustic curbs with all sides sheared and bushhammered curbs.  

The reference standards specifying the requirements to be met by curbs is as follows:
