Calculating the thickness of the pavement

The methodology of calculation of pavings is different as it treat  of pavings constituted by slabs or by sets.

Slabs

From the point of view of the flexión solicitation, the nominal thickness of the slab (eN) determines by means of the expression:

P: traffic load in KN
L y W: length and width of the slab in mm
ViE: lowest expected value of the flexural strength in MPa
F: combined safety and placement factor

Commercial roads with scarce activity, without regular bus service and HVD ranging between 5 and 14.

Commercial roads with high activity ranging between 15 and 24 HVD.

Main roads with traffic flow ranging between 25 and 49 HVD.

C1

Main roads with very high traffic flow. Bus stops. Petrol stations. Traffic ranging between 50 and 149 HVD.

C0

Main roads with traffic flow ranging between 150 and 500 HVD. Floor structures for industrial areas with average loads. Heavy truck stations.

AI-1

Industrial areas with traffic of very heavy vehicles ranging between 501 and 1000 HVD.
