Resistance essays

Flexural strength

To obtain this parameter, will realise  an essay of flexural resistance, in accordance with the UNE-EN 12372 Standard.

It will determine  the inferior Value Expected (V.i.E) of the flexural resistance of the stone, in MPa.

The value obtained with this essay, constitutes a parameter of reference to determine the thickness of the slabs or claddings for facade.

Compressive strength

To obtain this parameter, will realise  an essay of compression resistance. This control realises  only for pave them and for the pieces for factory of masonry, in accordance with  UNE-EN 1926 and UNE-EN 772-1 Standards respectively. It will determine  the inferior Value Expected (V.I.E.) of compression resistance in MPa.

Anchor strength

This essay realises  for the claddings for facade, that go to be fixed mechanically.
Before realising this control it is necessary to take into account the type of anchorage that will use.

In the case to place the slabs with bolt anchor, will realise  an essay of load of break for anchorages, according to the UNE-EN 13364 Standard, determining the inferior Value Expected (V.I.E.) of the load of break, in Newtons (N).

For a different kind of fastening, and as a technological test, a specific load test will be carried out on a fastening device similar to the one used, according to the internal procedures of the laboratory, which have been properly validated..

Abrasion resistance

Through this essay determines  the half value of the resistance to the wear by abrasion and the upper Value Expected (V.s.And) of the same, according to the procedure described in UNE-EN 14157 Standard.

It is an especially important parameter in the case of the pavings, since it will give us idea of the durability of the stone to the go through his surface.

Energía de rotura por impacto

The result of this essay, determined in Julies (J) by means of UNE-EN 14158 Standard, will serve us to know the resistance of the material to the impact of hard bodies.
